Tras el discurso de rendición de cuentas del presidente Luis Abinader, el senador del Distrito Nacional, Omar Fernández, expresó su inquietud respecto a las cifras de empleabilidad presentadas por el Ejecutivo. Aunque el mandatario destacó la creación de 134,000 empleos formales, el legislador opositor advirtió que la gran mayoría de estas posiciones no provienen de la inversión privada, sino de la expansión de la nómina pública.
Un modelo bajo la lupa
Para Fernández, el hecho de que más de tres cuartas partes de los nuevos puestos de trabajo dependan del Estado refleja un modelo insostenible a largo plazo. Según el senador, la función del Gobierno no debería ser convertirse en el principal empleador, sino establecer las condiciones necesarias para que las empresas privadas sean las que generen riqueza y empleos dignos.
“Se omitió un dato crucial: el 75 % de esos empleos son públicos. El Estado debe ser un facilitador, no el motor exclusivo de la ocupación laboral”, puntualizó el congresista, subrayando que el sector privado es el único capaz de ofrecer estabilidad y dinamismo real a la economía dominicana.
Riesgos fiscales
El legislador también lanzó una advertencia sobre las repercusiones económicas de esta tendencia. Sostuvo que inflar la empleomanía estatal dispara el gasto corriente, lo que a la postre podría derivar en un mayor endeudamiento público o en la necesidad de implementar nuevas cargas impositivas para sostener los salarios de la administración pública.
